I am a qualified counselling psychotherapist who has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults.
Since 2003 I have successfully provided counselling psychotherapy in private practice and schools, working with individual clients and couples. The work could be both short, or longer term and this is something which is discussed and decided as the therapeutic work progresses.
Between 2003 and 2010 I was Counselling Manager of a practice in Essex which specialised in services to families, thus working with adults, adolescents and children. This provision also included an on-site school counselling service to primary and secondary schools. In this role I managed a team of 13 counsellors/psychotherapists working across the borough of Thurrock in some 13 schools. The role inlcded:
- management of Service Level Agreements
- providing training for school staff
- facilitating clinical group supervision
During this period I also was responsible for the writing and delivery of Level 1, 2 and 3 courses in the area of Counselling and Listening Skills. All courses were accredited by CPCAB and as well as teaching, my role involved internal moderation as well as coordinating with external assessors.
